DOING JOURNALISM:
1. by yourself:  recall and jot down notes about something
important that happened to you or that you experienced
last year;

2. (with your same partner) play rock-paper-scissors
to figure out who chooses first:  "journalist" and
"person interviewed;"

3. use the same newpaper article worksheet as a guide:
- ask the questions
- note the answers
- get a relevant short quote.

4. Switch roles and repeat the exercise.

5. By yourself:  write the story up.  Ask yourself:  what's the most
important part?  Write that up first - that's your lead.
Write the story as if it was going to be published in your
student paper.
