You will be watching a film that takes place during World War Two. Although this is a Hollywood film it is solidly grounded in actual history. When it is over read the historical post script very carefully. Write a reflection that addresses the following.
1. Describe the way two of the  characters reacted to the internment and the way they were treated. Provide some detail and your perspective on why they reacted the way they did.

2. Could this same sort of thing happen in the future in America? Why, or why not?

3. Why do you think the film maker chose baseball as a tool for telling this story?

You will turn this in on Thursday the 3rd of April after debriefing in class.

 Here's the setup on the writing: in ch. 31, sec. 3 (p.396)the text describes Pres. Hoover's response one way, while "Myths of the Great Depression" (p.4) describes his response differently. NEXT: review the sources, then Write a TOPIC SENTENCE comparing these two points of view. Add two quotes, one from each source as evidence for the contrast.

He ordered all banks close their doors temporarily because there was a "Run on the banks" (Many people went to withdraw their money from the banks at the same time.)
